Mixed Media Artist
Art in one form or another has always been a part of my life. In the past 12 years I have been passionate about both painting & textiles.
A solo exhibition in 2011 successfully saw the interest in my Textiles grow with several pieces selling alongside my paintings.
The dynamic world of Textile Art has blossomed and made the transition of fine art to the marvellous principles of painting and fabric combined that can produce amazing results.
The completion of a City & Guilds Certificate 2 has given me more confidence to progress and develop further with complex techniques, creating pieces that have perspective in a painterly fashion, with use of values and thread work giving extra texture & dimension.
Since 2013 to current I’ve won several awards both National and International competitions.
2016 saw me at the major quilt shows in Australia touring with Bernina as their ‘Guru’ for the year where they showcased my quilts on their stand as I demonstrated and represented the Bernina Q20 machine.
I’ve been the feature artist and designed a special textile piece for Australian magazine Quilters Companion as well as DVD demonstration feature. I was the featured artist in the American Magazine, Machine Quilting Unlimited in January issue 2018
Always looking forward to a challenge I’m the new Coordinator of the textile exhibit One Step Further.
